Popo's Testimony

Here are some words on UGSAD KANG KINARAY-A from Atty. Raphael "Popo" Lotilla, former Secretary of the Department of Energy, and an Antiqueño:

"Ang mga ginsulat ni Alex sangka buhi nga pagturuk kag paghangup kang atun kahimtangan sa kalibutan kadya nga mga inadlaw. These writings also attest that our language Kinaray-a remains highly evolved as a living medium for various forms of social discourse, intellectual and otherwise. Hence, its potential as a language for the fullest development of our people remains limitless."

About Ugsad kang Kinaray-a

"Hindi lang intelektwalisasyon ng wikang Kinaray-a ang layunin ng Ugsad kang Kinaray-a, ito higit sa lahat, ay isang paghawan ng landas para sa akademisasyon --- ang pagdala sa Kinaray-a mula sa labas (periphery) papunta sa loob (center) ng akademikong diskurso."

Ugsad kang Kinaray-a aims not only to intellectualize the Kinaray-a language, but more importantly, it is clearing the way towards academization -- to bring Kinaray-a from the periphery to the center of academic discourse.
